There were a lot of shocking moments this 2011-2012 Renew/Cancel season. So…I’m giving you the chance to vote on what you thought was the most shocking moment this 2011-2012 season. First, let me give a brief overview on the 12 shows that made the list.
I think CW renewals and cancellations were the most anticipated announcements of any of the networks. CW shows were so close in ratings, that it seemed like all the shows were a toss up for cancellation or renewal.
Ringer didn’t seem like much of a shocker to me, but I’ve received several emails saying that they were shocked at the cancellation because it did so well through December 2011. The Secret Circle was a little bit of a shocker to me…simply because it did so well up until March of this year. A lot of people thought that it was between Nikita and The Secret Circle, and they were sure that Nikita was going to get cancelled…but it didn’t. On top of all of that, TVByTheNumbers predicted Hart of Dixie to get cancelled, while I said it will get a second season. Hart of Dixie didn’t seem like much of a shocker to me, but it seemed to shock those over at TVByTheNumbers. Finally, on top of all of this madness from the CW, their beloved series, Gossip Girl, will be returning for a FINAL season.
ABC had two of my most shocking moments. I thought for sure that GCB would get another season, and that Body of Proof was a goner…I was completely wrong. A lot of Fringe fans got a bitter-sweet surprise from FOX when they renewed Fringe for a final season, and we got another shock when NBC renewed 30 Rock for a final season as well. Three other shows got cancelled that seemed to shock the masses: Terra Nova (FOX), The Firm (NBC), and CSI: Miami (CBS). Terra Nova fans thought that the show was given an unfair shot…The Firm fans keep commenting on the cancellation on my page as if they won’t believe it…and CSI: Miami fans have to be ticked. CSI: Miami getting cancelled after 10 seasons without a final season…wow.

The Secret circle was the best freshman drama on TV this season maybe since Vampire Diaries 4 or 5 years ago.#SAVETHECIRCLE.

TELL THEM WHY WE LIKE THE CIRCLE AND WHY IT SHOULD BE BROUGHT BACK. I WOULD SUGGEST NO THREATS BECAUSE THAT PROBABLY WON’T SOLVE ANYTHING, BUT BE RESPECTFUL AND GET THEIR ATTENTION AND SHOW THEM THE FANS MEAN BUSINESS. SO BREAK OUT YOUR PENS AND PAPERS AND GET TO WRITING!

I liked The Secret Circle when it first started, but they strayed away from the original story so much, that by the series finale, it was almost like watching a completely different show.
I think that it deserved to get cancelled. The writers killed the show.
