For those of you who haven’t watch last night’s episode of “The Secret Circle”…this post will contain spoilers for last night’s episode.

Last night was a good night for the CW!  The winter finale of “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Secret Circle” were amazing!  So…first I’m going to review last night’s episode of “The Secret Circle.”

Cassie’s father is back in town, which, you knew, was going to cause some massive drama with Cassie and the circle.  Well, he shows up just in time.  Jake and Cassie find salt and ask at her front door…which is a way to prevent a witch from using their magic.  Jake is, once again, being a little bit of a creeper.  I use to LOVE him, but recently he’s been getting on my nerves.  I think they are trying to make him the “Damon” character…but no one can be better at being the good/bad boy who’s in love with another man’s girl than “Damon.”

After Jake leaves, Cassie gets a visitor…her father.  He wants to meet her at the pier later that night, and asks that she doesn’t tell anyone.  Of course, she tells Adam who tells her he should go with her…which she tells him no!  Bad idea Cassie…bad idea.

On a side note…Melissa actually had a good week this week!!!  She decides to go to a party that Callum is throwing, and finds out what a jerk he is, and all he’s interested in is her power.  Faye realizes that Lee is manipulating her…but Lee convinces her that he’s not the bad guy…oh, and they finally kiss!  Now…to continue…

Cassie shows up at the pier, and gets upset at her father (thinking all he wants in the medallion).  Cassie storms off, and gets kidnapped by the witch hunters.  Once Jake can’t find Cassie, he runs to the old Blackwell house (where he runs into John Blackwell).  Adam notices there’s something wrong with Jake, so he gets the circle together to find out.  Jake finally finds Cassie, and offers John Blackwell for Cassie.  The witch hunters agree…so Jake finds John and tricks him into coming with him to save Cassie.

At the trade off, the witch hunters tell Jake that they will give up Cassie if Jake offers himself up (instead of John).  He agrees, and Cassie and John run off.  I actually liked Jake after this (a little more than I have in the past).  He knew that the witch hunters were going to kill him, yet he gave himself up for Cassie.  Maybe there is still hope for Jake…but for now, I’m still for Adam.

Little does John know, Cassie was spelled to kill John.  The witch hunter is about to kill Jake when the other members of the circle show up and stops him.  Yes…Adam saved Jake’s life (I was shocked!).  Anyone else think it’s weird that they knew right where to go?  Like…do they tag each other with a gps?  Because it’s like they ALWAYS know where to go if someone is in trouble.

Cassie tries to kill John, but the circle stops her in time and breaks the spell.  Back home, John inlists the help from Jake to keep Cassie safe.  Cassie goes to the boathouse to be with Adam (very sweet moment).

So…this episode was actually pretty intense.  It seems like the series is getting better with time…though it’s developing a lot slower than “The Vampire Diaries.”  I can’t wait till March to see what happens next!
